Ambition

Friends, I am sure you realize that in order to succeed, you will need to have some ambition to get started.

Ambition

If you ask most people, they will absolutely tell you they want to be successful in life. Everyone has the ambition and abilities to be successful in life. Why is it that some people “go for the gusto” and succeed, whereas others fail to do so? Here are 6 tips to keep your fires of ambition going, and help ensure success.

#1. Your Goals Are Written Down – Right?

Remember the importance of writing down your goals from previous posts? well, take those goals that are written down and post them where you will see them often. I even make them into a wallpaper for my computer. This helps you keep your “eyes on the prize”. Print out the picture of that dream house, or car, or whatever you fancy.

#2. Take A Bow

If you reach one of your goals, be sure to remember to celebrate the victory. Don’t forget to remind yourself of the victory before moving on to the next goal. Make note of when and where it happened, so you can remember it later.

#3. Read Books

Make it a point to head to the local bookstore weekly. Find books on CEO’s, business professionals, and others that can inspire you to succeed. Learn how they did it, and use that as part of your blueprint.

#4. Network With Like-minded People

Find out where groups of other people that are pursuing their dreams gather, and meet and greet with them. There are many websites where you can find groups of people that are also pursuing their dreams. Even if they are in a different stage than you, or have different dreams, sharing techniques and tips can be helpful.

#5. Share Your Dreams With Others

You will be surprised the interesting ideas that can come from friends and family. By simply sharing your goals with them, they may present viewpoints you never even thought of.

#6. Never Stop Learning

You cannot ever reach a point where you should feel you know all there is to know about anything. By the time you begin reaching that point, everything will have changed again, and it is time to start over. Don’t stop pursuing that new knowledge.

I hope this helps you find your “inner fire”. Now, go get what you want!

I especially like #1 writing down your goals. Visualization has brought many of my goals to reality. If I don’t write them down somewhere they seem to get lost in all of the other ideas I come up with. Writing them down helps keep me focused.

Yes, I fully agree. I’m definitley with Laura on this one, the first step you mentioned is by far the most important. People complete most of what they write down and detail, it gives your dreams a tangible feel to it. Great post with a lot of invaluable information! People need to hear this more and more and I appreciate reading it here because it was just another reminder for me to continue doing it. The more reminders the better! :)

    Keep up the good work!

I believe in writing down goals and visualizing them too. Reading books is also very important. I have this experience of achieving my goal without realizing it until I read what I’ve written on my goal list a year ago. So yes, writing them down is extremely important. Once you’ve written it down and visualise it, you are actually attracting the goal to come to you, sometimes without much effort.

Ambition is there but what I lack is consistency & focus. Trying to achieve too many goals at a time is also distracts you from your primary Goal. Prioritize & achieve.
