New Series – 10 Steps To Success. Tip #6
Today is part 4 in our ongoing series on success. Today’s topic is :
Believe in yourself.
You are here for a purpose, and you have a purpose on this Earth. However, no one is going to believe in you if you don’t believe in you. If you went to buy a new car, and the salesperson was lacking confidence in the product, very distant, and didn’t really seem encouraging, would you want to buy it? Not very likely, is it? The same is true for everything else is life. If you don’t believe in your own abilities, no one else will. Sometimes, people will believe in you only as much as you do, so remember that moving forward.

Today is part 4 in our ongoing series on success. Today’s topic is :
Write It Down
Write down your biggest goal – the one you most want to fulfill. Success is the direct result of a personal decision. Start your goal with “I” or “Me”. Read your goal aloud every morning and every evening. Tell people about it. Make it your own.

New Series – 10 Steps To Success. Tip #1
Over the next 10 posts, I will be posting 10 steps to being more successful. I think these tips will be helpful in succeeding in life, love, and whatever you aspire to do in this crazy World.
Today is Tip #1.
#1. Never Give Up
Every day, do something that brings you closer to your goal. If that means trying something and finding it doesn’t work, that still brings you closer to your goal. Just like anything else, being successful requires persistence and patience. If you want to get anywhere, you cannot just give up when things don’t go perfectly. I know someone right now who will try something a couple of times, decide they have tried, and if it doesn’t work out, then it doesn’t work out. If I lived my life that way, I would never get anywhere. I would probably be a very depressed and unsuccessful person. Make sure you are really working hard to succeed, and if a roadblock comes up, turn another direction – don’t give up.

Quick Post
Just a quick post, friends. Remember to keep thinking positive thoughts, and reaffirming them daily! A positive attitude is important in success!

Persistence
Friends, I think there is one secret to success that we have not covered yet. That secret is :
Persistence.
What is persistence, exactly? It is the ability to keep pressing on, even when you want to throw in the towel. If you are working on a goal, such as trying to lose weight, you have to keep pressing forward. Motivation is important, granted, but more important is action. The best of intentions won’t produce results – only action will. If you keep taking action, and start getting results, you will be motivated to press on, thus restarting a cycle. You also have to realize that there is a such thing as the appropriate time to give in – throw in the towel. A great example of knowing when to say when is here. Have you ever heard of a company called Traf-O-Data? It was a company owned by Bill Gates, pre-Microsoft. Had he persisted and not known when to give up, Microsoft may never have existed. Persistence is not the same as stubbornness. There is no great honor in clinging to a goal or plan that just won’t work, doesn’t inspire you, or otherwise is no longer appropriate.
B
Courage
Moving forward in life requires many things, and being successful is no exception. I think one thing that gets overlooked is:
Courage
If you plan on moving forward in life, you have to be willing to step out of your comfort zone and do something daring. Roll the dice, and see what happens. You cannot succeed if you don’t try. If you see a chance to succeed in life, don’t be afraid. Step up to the plate and make it happen. You cannot win if you don’t play. The courage it takes to try something, and “go for it” is truly one of the landmarks of successful people. Sure, we all have doubts at times, and we all have fear. The difference is simple – successful people work through that and use it to their advantage. Courage is what it takes.

Balance Is Key
I think one thing to remember in your pursuit of success is – balance.
What I mean by the need for balance is simple – if you spend all of your time working on and focusing on the things that need work, you will not get time to enjoy the things that you are good at doing. Remember to spend time perfecting those things that you are already good at, work on the things that need work, and also realize that there are some things you cannot change. If you are all worked up because you want to date a certain person, or pursue a certain career, or become a certain personality type, realize that it may not be possible. There is no reason to spend your whole life pursuing something that isn’t possible. Keeping that balance will be a great way to ensure you invest in the right areas.
Dear Me, Forgive Me
Do you find that the hardest person to forgive is yourself? If you cannot forgive yourself, you will never be able to move forward in life. These 3 steps can help in forgiving yourself.
1. Bless Yourself First
Understand that having a case of the “should have’s” or “could have’s” is just self-judgment, and this can serve no purpose. Instead of thinking those negative thoughts, replace those thoughts with thoughts of Blessing and Happiness.
2. Get Real
Getting a realistic perspective is key to getting ahead in life. If you aren’t realistic, you can really throw yourself for a loop. Keep perspective, and keep in reality.
3. Identify Yourself
Find out who you are, and where you belong in life, and go with that. Not everyone can be a rock star, an athlete, an executive, etc. Keep things in perspective, and quite comparing your life with that of others. Comparing yourself with others can only lead to challenges
I hope this list helps.
