Friends, my message today comes by recommendation of a regular reader who wants to know more about being in a good mood versus being in a bad mood. What we want to talk about today is: Good Mood Bad Mood – Highway To The Danger Zone

Moods can be tricky…good mood or bad mood? I know I prefer to be in a good mood, and prefer being around others who are in a good mood. This is a great place to be. However, if you are in a bad mood, you are in the danger zone. I would think that everyone wants to be in a good mood, with a positive outlook and a happy feeling. However, due to stress or physical conditions, sometimes our mood can be less than desirable.

Often times, when we are in a bad mood, it is because we have allowed ourselves to start worrying too much, or having a poor self-image – both topics that have been covered here in the past. With some practice and work, we can also change this, and become happier people.

Have you ever noticed how it takes so much time, energy, and effort to be in a bad mood, yet being in a good mood is so much more comfortable? Being in a good mood makes your entire life easier. You will feel better about yourself, and be much more fun to be around. Being in a better mood also promotes higher self-esteem, therefore making you a much more fun person to be around. Your self-esteem and self-confidence will soar, and you will be an overall better person.

Now, how does one go about getting rid of a bad mood? There are several ways to accomplish this, however I will keep this list to 5 top ways to alleviate a bad mood.

#1. Count Your Blessings
If you get into a bad mood, stop for a minute and literally think about all the wonderful blessings you have in your life. If you spend all your time considering all the great things you have, you can’t very well remain in a bad mood, can you?

#2. Not Enough Sleep
If you have a bad night of sleep, you will probably not be in the best of moods. Be sure to adjust your sleeping patterns, and read my post about Worry if that keeps you up at night.

#3. Eat Right And Exercise

I cannot stress how important eating right and exercising are to a healthy lifestyle.  Perhaps you have heard the saying “Healthy Body, Healthy Mind”. It really is true. If you get sufficient exercise daily, and eat right, your body will be in much better condition, and I heard of studies that suggest your mood will improve from all the endorphins and adrenaline released during exercise, which makes sense.

#4. Think Positively

Don’t let negative thinking creep into your mind – it will poison your thoughts and keep your bad mood with you. If you keep thinking positively, you cannot possibly stay in a bad mood.

#5.  Solve The Problem

If some persistent problem keeps you in a bad mood, do what you can to solve or remove the problem, so it doesn’t persist in bothering you.

I hope this guide will help you put into perspective your bad mood, and turn that frown upside down. By the way, the book listed below may also be of interest in helping that cause.
