More on Self Confidence
I know that having confidence and being confident are not easy, but it can be learned and achieved. As I discussed previously under my first entry titled Self Confidence there are plenty of ways to aid this process along. In this article, I will list a few more things you can do today to start becoming more confident.
#1. Dress Nicely
When you feel like you look sharp, you will feel better about yourself. Be sure to wear clean, pressed, nice clothes. This doesn’t mean you need to spend tons of money on clothes. It does mean you need to make sure your clothes are nicely ironed and clean, and that you have taken the time to be well groomed overall.
#2. Accentuate the Positive, Eliminate the Negative
In order to have self confidence, you will definitely need to remember all the positive things going for you today. Make a list of all the wonderful things you have in your life, and focus on remembering just how much you do have. By focusing on your success, you will be motivated to continue to work towards new goals.
#3. Listen To Motivational Speakers
If you do not have any books or CD’s, and there are no motivational speakers in your area, you can often times find MP3′s online for sale that would allow you to hear these speakers. You may also find videos recorded from popular speakers at video sharing websites.
#4. Work Out or Exercise
If you don’t feel like you look good, how can you expect to feel good? Working out gives you a chance to accomplish something positive, work towards a goal, energize the body and soul, and release negative energy. As you do more of it, you will notice progress, which is more positive reinforcement.
#5. Focus On Helping Others
If you can contribute to someone else’s well being, you can focus on their needs, not your own. Helping someone else also makes you feel better about yourself, since you will be helping someone else who needs help. This can be accomplished a number of ways – even something as simple as joining a user forum and answering someone’s questions, or calling a friend who needs to know you care.
#6. Act Confident – Even If You Aren’t
Make sure you project confidence, and happiness, even if you don’t really feel it. If you look confident, and act confident, you will start to feel more confident, and people will begin to perceive you as more confident, and therefore treat you differently.
Remember, even confident people have doubts at times. The difference is, confident people don’t let it overwhelm them.
