Path To Happiness
Friends, today I want to discuss a topic that was suggested by a frequent reader – how does one find the path to happiness?
Finding Your Path To Happiness
I believe that our state of mind defines our path to happiness – not what happens to us, or what is going on around us. If you are able to change your mind to a positive, more happy mindset, you are well on your way to being a happier, more fulfilled person. I think there are 3 things we must learn in order to be successful and happy people. You may recognize these steps, but perhaps you have never applied them before, or haven’t thought about them in this way.
#1. Understand And Accept
You must understand what things you can change, and what you cannot change. If you are unhappy about your height, for example, there is no way you can learn to be taller or shorter, so fretting over this is pointless. Learning to figure out what can be changed, and what cannot, is key to your ultimate success.
#2. Know The Difference
Knowing the difference between what can and cannot be changed is also critical, otherwise you could spend your entire life trying to change things that cannot be changed to begin with. They may not be as obvious as things such as your physical height. Being able to spot the differences is key.
#3.. It Takes Courage
If you have recognized some things that you can change, and decided you would like to do so, it will take courage to take a step in the right direction to begin the change. Simply understanding what can be changed is only a part of the battle.
#4. Take Action
Once you have figured out the above steps, you must begin to take the action prescribed. Don’t be afraid!
I think the path to happiness is one we all pursue. I hope these steps help a bit in being able to pursue that path. I also suggest this book to help in that path.

After all, what really makes us happy? Significance is our reason for being; i.e. the source of our happiness. Virtually everyones idea of happiness can be boiled down to significance. Someone thinks money can make them happy?; What, in that train of thought, could actually bring happiness? It is the thought deep down inside that money could somehow take this person from being ordinary (or in some cases the thoughts of being less than ordinary) and creating a world of significance for this person. Power is another example. Power over other people in the world would somehow make the person with power significant to themselves and others in the world. My only point is, that in most cases, significance is what we all really want. We want to have an important position, not only in our own mind and heart, but in the minds and hearts of others. Some would be happy if they were significant to there children, others to there parents. Others want to be significant to friends. But those who want fame, money and/or power typically feel the need to be significant to a larger audience. Whichever way that each individual needs to have significance defines their drive to success.
I love the good advice from the blogs and I believe that it is not only interesting and well written, but brings a great public service.

very true, those words. i have always told my kids when they got bent out of shape about something that if there is something that they can do about the situation then do it. if there isn’t anything that they can do there is no sense fretting over it. sometimes it’s harder said then done though.

Happiness is a state of mind that really depends how we see the situations in our lives each day. you can have all the riches in the world but still see it as a lonely place.,~~
